Welcome to the official website of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 3, Bhubaneswar, one of the best educational institutions of BHUBANESWAR, the capital city of Orissa. This centre of excellence which was first established in 1986 as civil sector school affiliated to CBSE .
The School which was accommodated initially at Railway High School campus admitted students in standards I to V.With the introduction of standards VI to IX, the first batch of class X appeared Board Examination in the year 1992.The year 2003 was memorable as the Vidyalaya moved into the present campus at Pragati Vihar set up sprawling on 18 acres of land . The new +2 pattern of education was introduced in 2003.Construction of compound wall and the eleven staff quarters by the KVS, in 2004 was the next step in the growth of the Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya was declared as a “Model School” by the KVS with additional infrastructural facilities for computer education in 2001-2002 .The Vidyalaya took over the newly constructed Annexed building on 18.10.2003.The foundation stone of the Vidyalaya was laid by the Ex-Commissioner, KVS Sri H M Caire, IAS.
With the addition of a new Computer lab in 2007,the Vidyalaya is well equipped with Science, Mathematics and Computer laboratories with Broad-band internet connectivity and an audio visual room with LCD projector,OHP and Activity room.The Vidyalaya also have the Multigym the foundation stone of which was laid by the Commissioner. KVS Shri R.L. Jamuda, IAS on 18.04.2007..From a humble beginning under the able handed principals like Sri B Raul, Sri D. Kathua, Sri V.Narasimhan, Sri V S Mitra, Sri P C Raju, Sri B.Choudhury, Smt. B.Mishra and shri D. Purohit we have gained pearls of experiences to go ahead to an expressive future.
Now under the illustrious leadership of Smt Preeti Roy the Vidyalaya has bloomed in its full glory and has become the much sought after centre for education in this ambitious city.
In this temple of learning, which is a second home to about 1650 students. The dedicated teachers strive to inculcate eternal values besides molding creative minds, realizing the responsibility of contributing committed citizens to the nation.
